New high spec windows hosting server

Our new 'quad core' high spec windows server is now live. Migration took place in the early hours and all clients are now placed on the new server. Email migration also took place and we happy to announce it went smoothly. Doug is also following up with a phone call to double check all is well with email and in particular our elearning and e-commerce clients who have more detailed setups.

Doug, friends and family were in Salcombe last week doing a little sailing, relaxing and eating. Well worth visiting if you haven't been, beautiful rugged countryside. I ecame equal first with Dad with 33 points at the golf but was beaten at cards by my brother-in-law - oh well.

.NET Framework 4.0

White Orange have now started to use .NET Framework 4.0 which has some new enhancements some subtle and some that allow new functionality in feature rich websites. In particular the new addition of the latest AJAX components. This in particular will allow greater features but also quicker development time due to better architecture of the new framework. Many of the new features are dependable on the latest windows server which White Orange will implement later this year. We have already noticed increased performance on our test server and cant wait to migrate our clients applications and websites.

Doug and Steve go Paintballing

Doug and Steve joined with friends to create a 13 man (and Women) strong team last weekend to take on all comers at a paint balling centre in Andover. With few veterans in the 'squad' and plenty of rookies we got well and truelly mowed down in the first round against a team of 20+! However we re-grouped and changed our tactics (actually thought about them!) we were soon winning round after round finishing off with a crazy 'last man standing' finale. And yes paint balling does hurt! Its also great fun...

Visitor Day at Hammersmith BNI - Networking

There is a visitor's day at Hammersmith BNI this Friday (4th June). In fact we meet every friday at the same time (7am!) at the Plough and Harrow. We have 26 members from Architects, Landscape gardners, web designers, Lawyers, IT and more. The meeting is structured includes breakfast and finishes at 8:30 with informal networking afterwards. 40km Walk in Sussex

Douglas recently walked 40km for charity. A small group of 12 raised over £1400 for Cancer Research UK. The walk took us 8 hours with a few breaks along the way. We walked across the beautiful countryside of Sussex. There were hundreds of walkers many sponsored by corporate companies and vast sums were raised. Our group all passed the finish line within 30 minutes of each other. Well done to the 3 guys doing the 60km who passed the finish line just before us...Hats off to them - who ever they are! Thank you to fellow walkers and for those who sponsored us.

Steve in Smokey Joe's Café
